A Little Christmas Gift

2017 was a busy, and very interesting year. We are just getting home from our annual strategy workshop in the Bavarian mountains, and while we are happy to settle down for Christmas now, we are also looking forward to 2018 and the many cool things we have in store for you.

EventNotes will see a new iteration, with a subscription offering for those of you that – like ourselves – have discovered Event Storming as a primary tool for software design.

We will continue to work hard on writing our eBooks PHPUnit Explained, PHP Deployment Explained, and Event Sourcing Explained. We know that many of you are eagerly awaiting the releases. If only our day job as consultants would leave us more time to work on these books ...

We have been pretty active in the conference space this year, presenting at SymfonyLive Cologne, php[tek], International PHP Conference - Spring Edition, Contao Konferenz, FrOSCon, PHP Developer Day, DrupalCon Vienna, code.talks, RomaniaPHP, KanDDDinsky, International PHP Conference, SymfonyLive Berlin, PHP Central Europe, PHP.RUHR, and MageTestFest. Thanks to all conference organizers for having us at their events, and for making the PHP community so great.

We always try to fit visiting a meetup or user group into our schedule when travelling. This year, we visited the PHP User Group Munich, GroningenPHP, and Software Engineering Münster. If you would like to have us speak at your meetup or user group, drop us a line.

Thanks to the support of our customers Kartenmacherei and Trivago, Sebastian ran PHPUnit code sprints in Hamburg and Düsseldorf. If you are interested in hosting or sponsoring a PHPUnit code sprint in 2018, please get in touch with us.

There is another big thing coming, which we have been working on during this year together with a number of other respected members of the German PHP community. You will, however, have to wait until January ...

But Santa already has a little gift for you: use the discount code XMAS2017 to buy PHP 7 Explained today, and you will get 50% off the regular price. This offer expires on December 26th, so get your copy of the PHP 7 explained eBook right now. In January, you will receive a complimentary update that covers PHP 7.2.

thePHP.cc wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! See you all next year.
