Lies, Damned Lies, and Temporality
Every piece of software implements a model, which is a simplification of reality. As we know, all models are wrong, but some are useful.
This talk will make the point that many issues with our models (and software) stem from unnecessary or even blatant simplifications that leave out temporality. We can do better. We’ll look at various examples and discuss the implications of more temporality in our models. You will leave with a better understanding of why making fundamental changes to existing software is hard, and what can be done about this.
